We had parties in the North east of Nigeria and South west of Nigeria .we started by visiting the Tafabalewa teaching hospital Bauchi where we spoke with the chief neurosurgeon ,He shared with us some new inventions, techniques and rehabilitation for newly injured patients with spinal cord injury .
We also visited some patients at the hospital ward and physiotherapy department then we shared some hope with them letting them know spinal cord injury is not the end of life ,they can still be anything after their injury once they are optimistic and hopeful,we also shared some cash gifts with them .
we then headed to the venue of the meeting where we had some of our members of the Spinal Cord Injury Association Africa network,we also had some Physiotherapists ,it was so much fun, we shared some tips and our stories living with spinal cord injury and had alot of food and drinks everyone was so happy .
Many of asked us to have more of such meetings ,we hope to have many more of such going on,only with your support we can make it happen .Such meeting not only give people with spinal cord injuries hope but also give us a sense of belonging and representation as the most marginalized cluster of people with disabilities .
